Dan Kammen, the Bloomberg Distinguished Professor of Energy and Climate Justice with joint appointments in the Whiting School of Engineering Department of Civil and Systems Engineering and the Paul Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, recently appeared on an episode of “Energy Switch“, a Public Broadcasting Service energy and environment point-counterpoint talk show.

The title of Kammen’s episode is “Solar and Wind: Success or Failure?” and in it, he debates with Robert Bryce, energy author and journalist. The synopsis for the episode is “We hear conflicting information about solar and wind energy. They’re the cheapest form of electricity. But they make electricity more expensive. They’re the fastest growing electricity. But they make only a small portion of total energy. Are they the future? Or uncompetitive without subsidy?”
