September 22, 2023
1:00 pm / 2:30 pm
Join Army Applied SBIR, Academy Investor Network (AIN) Ventures and The Ralph O’Connor Sustainable Energy Institute of John Hopkins University on Friday, September 22, from 1-2:30 p.m. EDT, for a virtual Army Reverse Pitch event! This is an opportunity to hear directly from Army customers and their programs of record about the solutions they are seeking, and how your company could receive funding for further development and integration of your technology into the Army’s ecosystem.
During the virtual event, technical experts from the Army will provide information about the Energy Demand Reduction and Clean Energy Tech Open Topic contract solicitations currently in pre-release, a time to ask technical questions regarding the contract solicitations prior to their open periods on September 28. We encourage you to participate in the event and learn more about this critical Army research and development solicitation:
Energy Demand Reduction and Clean Energy Tech Open Topic
The purpose of Energy Demand Reduction and Clean Energy Tech Open Topic is to bring potentially valuable small business innovations to the Army and create an opportunity to expand the relevance of the Army SBIR program to firms who do not normally compete for SBIR awards.
This open topic is open to both Phase I and Direct Phase 2 submissions. The period of performance for Phase I awards is 6 months and a maximum funding limit of $250,000 per award. The period of performance for Direct to Phase II awards is 18 months and a maximum funding limit of $1,900,000. While the Climate and Clean Tech Open Topic will accept proposals on any technical challenge requiring the application of climate and clean technologies, submissions addressing the following four core technical areas will be prioritized for award:
- Energy Storage (man-portable, ground vehicle and support equipment applications, and airborne vehicle solutions)
- Clean Energy Generation (primary but not exclusive range of 1kW-200kW and 20-1,000 energy consumption endpoints)
- Micro-grid components compatible with the DoD’s Tactical Microgrid Standard
- Electric and Hybrid Electric Transportation (ground vehicles, ground support equipment, UAV, helicopter, and small-fixed wing aircraft solutions)
