Title: The Race for Quantum Computing

Abstract: Quantum computing is fast approaching practicality. I will introduce this field including theory, technology, commercial status, and applications. The most exciting of these include drug discovery, molecular biology, materials science, and cybersecurity. I will also introduce how as the world’s largest integrated quantum company, Quantinuum is leading the development of the most powerful quantum computers and the most advanced quantum software solutions. This includes our Helios quantum computer, InQuanto quantum chemistry platform, and NEXUS quantum operating system. In addition, we are open to partnering with academic groups like JHU in different capacities including partnering on a solicitation response, engaging in different ecosystem activities, and scientific papers as it relates to the aforementioned topics.

Bio: Dr. Mark Jackson is a quantum physicist and the Senior Quantum Evangelist at Quantinuum, a world-leading quantum computing company that aims to making groundbreaking scientific advances that will enable us find to solutions to some of society’s most complex and urgent problems. He received his B.S. in Physics and Mathematics from Duke University, and his Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from Columbia University. He then spent 10 years researching superstring theory and cosmology, co-authoring almost 40 technical articles. He is Adjunct Faculty at Singularity University and an Entrepreneur In Residence at Yale Ventures. Mark is a leading voice in quantum computing with over 300 keynote and panel talks.
