Beth Rannie

Financials, Sr. Grants & Contracts Analyst


Beth Rannie has worked on the financials team of the Ralph O’Connor Sustainable Energy Institute (ROSEI) since May 2024 and currently holds the title of senior grants and contracts analyst.

Rannie leads ROSEI in a variety of key areas, including but not limited to:

  • Partnering with and acting as the final point of contact with faculty and/or budgetary staff and the Office of Research Administration (JHURA) toward the planning and development of application submissions to various federal offices, private agencies/foundations and commercial companies
  • Tracking expenditure rates, budget allocations, sub-awards, and account maintenance for accounts across the faculty portfolio
  • Ensuring that post-award responsibilities are completed, including budget distribution, account reconciliation, e-form setup, HR Payroll transactions, effort reporting, cost transfers, paying invoices and paperwork finalization related to subcontract setup, and closeout

Rannie has worked at Johns Hopkins University since 2008. She spent over 11 years with the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering as a key member of its financials team in a variety of roles. Rannie’s first position at Hopkins was with the Research Project Administration (now known as the JHU Research Administration) as a sponsored project specialist.

She is the recipient of a Whiting School of Engineering Staff Excellence Award in 2018.

Rannie received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Towson University.
