Gretchen Erdmann-Hermans
Gretchen Erdmann-Hermans has served as the Business Development Specialist for the Ralph O’Connor Sustainable Energy Institute (ROSEI) since September 2025.
Erdmann-Hermans supports ROSEI’s efforts in maximizing community impact, strategic growth, public relations, and non-governmental funding streams, including:
- Corporate sponsored research
- Foundation funding
- Community Impact projects
- Translational research
- International student and post doc collaborations
- Micro-credential creation
- Community events
- Public relations
This is Erdmann-Hermans’ first role at Johns Hopkins University. Her prior experience in event planning and fundraising, as well as time spent as a local planning commissioner, aid in her community engagement efforts with ROSEI.
Her specific previous work experience includes running a scientific graphic design studio translating complex scientific concepts through visually compelling illustrations. She also founded a technology company focused on employment equity in suburban areas lacking public transportation, developing a peer-to-peer job platform that connects youth and newly settled immigrants with elder and household support while translating gig-work data into skills-based resumes and strengthening community connections.
Erdmann-Hermans earned a BS in Geoscience with a Certificate in Art from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
