Konstantinos Gerasopoulos

Program Manager and Senior Staff Scientist, Applied Physics Laboratory


Konstantinos (Kostas) Gerasopoulos is a senior staff scientist and assistant program manager. His research interests lie in energy storage, semiconductor process technology, and advanced fabrication techniques for novel devices and systems. He has led projects focusing on the development of wearable sensors, fieldable diagnostics, and flexible batteries. Gerasopoulos leads a team of scientists and engineers working on advanced energy-storage materials for next-generation lithium-ion batteries. His energy-storage research at APL has been recognized with the 2017 Invention of the Year Award and a 2019 R&D Award. Gerasopoulos is also the focus area lead for Power and Energy in APL’s Research and Exploratory Development Mission Area, managing internal research projects in emerging energy technologies. Additional areas of expertise include battery technology, biomedical devices and sensors, and semiconductor process technology.
