
Kyra Vocci
Kyra Vocci has been a member of the Ralph O’Connor Sustainable Energy Institute (ROSEI) since July 2022 and currently holds the title of administrative manager.
Vocci leads ROSEI in a variety of key areas, including but not limited to:
- Directly responsible for the overall administrative, financial, academic and operational activities of ROSEI including primary supervision over the administrative staff, oversight of the day-to-day operations, sponsored and non-sponsored funds management, grants and contracts management, academic systems, services and support management, human resources, and facilities/space needs
- Supervises performance of administrative staff, conducts performance reviews, identifies professional development opportunities, creates position descriptions and requisitions for new hires and performs other HR-related tasks
- Oversees all activities related to pre-award and post-award administrative and financial processes
- Addresses complex financial management problems, audit questions and contract management issues
- Serves as the university liaison for all administrative, financial, and operational matters, including representing the institute in divisional and interdivisional meetings
- Assists the institute’s director with development, preparation and review of divisional budgets including establishing a five-year plan
Vocci has worked at Johns Hopkins University since 2008. She was previously with the Department of Materials Science and Engineering as a senior grants and contracts analyst for five years. Before that, Vocci was with the Department of Chemistry as a senior grants and contracts analyst financial manager from July 2008 – July 2017.
Vocci was the recipient of a Whiting School of Engineering (WSE) Excellence Award in 2023. She is a member on the WSE Staff Council, and served as treasurer for the Chesapeake chapter of the Society of Research Administrators (SRA) from 2020-2022.
Vocci received her bachelor’s degree in business management from Washington College.
