Naomi Duffort
Naomi Duffort has been a member of the Ralph O’Connor Sustainable Energy Institute (ROSEI) since January 2026 and currently holds the title of program specialist for the Advanced Mammalian Biomanufacturing Innovation Center (AMBIC).
Duffort supports AMBIC in a variety of key areas, including:
- Partnering with leadership at AMBIC’s academic sites and industry sites to ensure smooth operations and the successful achievement of organizational goals
- Coordinating conferences, working group meetings, and special events
- Providing oversight and management of AMBIC’s research portfolio
- Managing and AMBIC’s budget and tracking expenditures
Duffort previously worked at Johns Hopkins University from 2015-2018 as a research assistant and health educator for the Center for Innovative Care in Aging at the School of Nursing. Her main responsibilities included coordinating NIH-funded research projects and managing administrative, financial, and compliance-related processes.
More recently, Duffort worked as a program manager at the University of Alabama-Birmingham (UAB) from 2022-2025. There, she managed interdisciplinary research and training programs with the aim of strengthening institutional capacity and professional development across multiple academic divisions.
While at UAB, Duffort was selected to participate in the 2024 Developing Emerging Administrative Leaders (DEAL) program, a yearlong leadership development program for program administrative staff. She also received multiple awards in 2015 while serving as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Maryland School of Social Work, including an AARP Andrus Service Award for contributions to legislative and policy advocacy, as well as a UMB Interdisciplinary Award for Excellence in geriatric social work.
Duffort received a Master of Social Work, Program Management & Policy, with a specialization in aging, from the University of Maryland. She received her bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management & statistics from Temple University.
