The Ralph O’Connor Sustainable Energy Institute (ROSEI) has prepared a list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to assist faculty at Johns Hopkins University in determining if ROSEI can be the right vehicle for their idea when writing a research proposal. ROSEI’s mission is to enable and implement research in sustainable energy, and the institute is open to a variety of creative ways to fulfill this mission.
The FAQ has been created to be as user friendly as possible. A list of questions in the table of contents serves as links so that researchers can quickly access answers to specific questions. Questions are grouped into eight different categories, with specific ones ranging from “How do I initiate the process of submitting a proposal through ROSEI?” to “Will ROSEI help me build a team in answer to a specific call?”
“We have been thinking about how ROSEI can help faculty who want to work with us, and we feel like this resource fits the bill,” said Ben Schafer, ROSEI’s director. “It is stressful and time-consuming to pull together a proposal, so we tried to think of every question that a PI may have, while also including some useful sample text. We hope this meets a need, and we are looking forward to working with everybody.”
The FAQ is only intended for principal investigators associated with Hopkins. Therefore, one must be either on the Johns Hopkins internet network, or utilizing the university’s VPN to access the page. For efforts led outside of Johns Hopkins, please contact ROSEI at [email protected] for teaming possibilities.
For general proposal inquiries with ROSEI, please contact Sr. Grants and Contracts Analyst Kyra Vocci. For teaming and strategy proposal inquiries, ROSEI Managing Director Ben Link is the best person to get in touch with.
