The Ralph O’Connor Sustainable Energy Institute (ROSEI) is passionate about promoting translation efforts in energy at Johns Hopkins University (JHU), with a general focus on science/engineering innovation.
ROSEI leverages the university’s commercialization & entrepreneurship hub, Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures (JHTV), to ensure that discoveries are translated into the marketplace, whether via corporate licensing, corporate research collaborations, or venture creation. ROSEI faculty are supported with intellectual property protection, licensing and tech development strategy, and a suite of resources for startup founders.
One of ROSEI’s goals is to educate and provide resources for faculty and students in their translation efforts. The institute now hosts an annual Translation (T2M) Workshop that brings external entrepreneurs to discuss a variety of topics with JHU faculty and students. Individuals affiliated with ROSEI will also be able to use the institute’s advisory council as a resource in its translation efforts.
